Have you seen the movie “Breaking Away“? Other than Dennis Quaid in his early 20’s with no shirt on, you will find a great coming of age story where local boys struggle with social stereo types, love and some killer bicycle racing. The race is called the “Little Indy 500“. The Little 500 is a team relay race. Teams of 3 or 4 riders take turns on the same bike and also share a helmet. The bicycles are 1 speed with a coaster brake or a fixed gear. A small group of us here in Eugene decided to have a go at the “Little Eugene 100″. We found an old dirt track in North Eugene at a torn down Elementary School. Fun was had by all."
